History:  Adventure Team was founded in 1996 by Travis Patterson as an adventure racing and extreme sports club.  Over the years it developed into more of an outdoor adventure club offering various outdoor activities for not only experts but beginners to intermediate levels.  We now offer structured and organized events for our members, schools, churches, and corporate groups.

Mission:  To provide an atmosphere of fun and adventure through preplanned events, social interaction, education, and involvement of developing the mind, body, and soul around outdoor activities in order to relieve stress and promote camaraderie.  To also provide a venue for folks to become active inexpensively while meeting other folks on their own schedule in accordance to the 20-30 pre-planned events on the Adventure Team calendar.

Discounts:  Each activity that an Adventure Team member attends may have some type of group discount.  In many cases our events have no cost but on the average if there is a cost involved.  Our discounts range from 10% - 35% depending on the activity. 

Membership Card: Each member will have the ability to download their own personal membership card that will allow them to receive discounts through various merchants and outfitters throughout their established area.  The discounts will range from FREE to up to 20% depending on the location.     

Incentive Program:  As an individual signs up for Adventure Team they are designated with a ranking called "Tenderfoot".  As the member progresses and does more events that ranking will change to "Explorer", to "Adventurer", to "Expedition Team", to "Expedition Leader".  For each level that a member advances to they will receive a gift from an Adventure Team decal to, Adventure Team T-shirts, hats, and embroidered shirts.  This gives a way for the members to compete somewhat against one another are getting more involved.

Monthly Meetings:  Each month Adventure Team has a general meeting on the 3rd Monday.  This is a time to get to meet some of the other members if you are visiting or a guest.  We also invite speakers to learn about new and upcoming activities being added to the calendar but also various educational speakers on body maintenance, nutrition, and health care. 

Other offerings:  As well as monthly physical activities, Adventure Team also hosts various educational clinics to learn about the technical aspects to a specific activity.  For example:  Backpacking 101...how to pack lighter on a camping/backpacking trip, what equipment to take and how to use it most wisely.  Dutch Oven Cooking...learn how to cook nutritious and good tasting meals on the trail.  Bike Maintenance 101...learn how to change a flat tire, fix a broken chain, tighten a chain, lubrication of various components, and preventative maintenance for a longer lasting bike.

DEPOSITS & PREPAYMENTS
Some events will require a prepayment or both a deposit and prepayment to hold a member's spot for a particular activity.   In either regard there will be a 24 hour cancellation policy on any activity, day trip or multi-day trip.  A full refund will be due if contacted prior to the 24 hours.  If contacted after the 24 hours the member will receive their refund with a $5 late fee or if a deposit was required will lose their deposit. If there is a sign up with a "NO SHOW", the member will be responsible for the full amount of the event or trip.    If Adventure Team goes through another vendor for a multi-day trip the vendor's  refund and cancellation policy will supersede this policy.   We also reserve the right to cancel any trip due to weather, water conditions or the lack of sufficient reservations. A full refund will be made for these reasons.

Your Adventure Team Staff is the best in Texas! The staff is a unique collection of fellow adventurers who really love their jobs (who wouldn't!). They are helpful, fun, and highly motivated to see to it that you are getting the most out of your membership with us!
